COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC

When: Wednesdays 1:30-4:30pm

Where: Inca Street Collective at 855 Inca St, Denver, CO

What is Community Acupuncture?

A model of health care where several patients can be cared for in the same room, with curtains or room dividers for a semi-private experience.

Why Me? Why Now?

I have envisioned bringing affordable, accessible health care to marginalized communities since I began studying Chinese medicine. Witnessing the gross discrepancies within the health care system at large and the disparity in the alternative health care realm, it is needed more than ever. I've had the opportunity to participate in outreach during my years in Denver thanks to the relationships I’ve cultivated.

The Community Acupuncture Clinic is the realization of my vision. A clinic for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Disabled, and Low Income communities to receive affordable services on a sliding scale payment system. These services are delivered right next door to Point of Balance in the Inca Street Collective Space at 855 Inca Street.

FAQ

What does it feel like?

• The needles we use are single-use, stainless steel, and as fine as your hair
• Needles are inserted at specific acupuncture points throughout your body
• When the needle is inserted it will feel like a barely noticeable pinch, though this does depend on your sensitivity. Sensations most often reported are dull, achy, zinging, warm, electric, or buzzing feelings
• Afterwards you may feel very relaxed and/or very alert. To maximize the effects of your treatment, please plan to avoid alcohol, drugs, rigorous exercise, or anything else that may be a shock to the body following your appointment

How should I prepare?

• Arrive well hydrated and please have eaten within a few hours of your appointment
• Wear loose-fitting clothing to allow access up to your knees, elbows, and head

•This is a sliding scale clinic, we invite you to pay what you can. Suggested payment ranges from $10 to $40 and will be collected upon arrival
• Accepted methods of payment: Cash or Credit/Debit Card
• Insurance is not required
